Club Member Larry Bullard, NØWRK, Wins a First Place in ARRL DX Contest

Club member Larry Bullard reports the following instructive experience:

“I enjoy spending a few hours on various contests making contacts and giving ‘real’ contest operators some points from my contacts. I have been logging my contacts and sending them in. Not as a serious contest operator but as a way to help with check logs for the people who are serious about this. Plus it is fun to work the frequency and the N1MM log gives me a written record.

“Imagine my surprise when I opened an ARRL envelope containing an award certificate in the ARRL DX CONTEST 2012 for first place, Colorado Section, single operator, 15 meters.

“A few hours of fun and look what happens. Moral of story, always send in a log…..NØWRK Larry”
