We are sad to report the passing of founding club member Bob Schaeffer, KJØG, on 8 Dec 2015, in Montrose. At Bob’s request, no services will be held. His obituary in the Montrose Daily Press can be found by clicking here.

He served in the Navy in World Ward II as a radio tech, and graduated from Northwestern University with a degree in electrical engineering. Bob moved to Montrose in 1952.

In addition to being a founding member of MARC, he was also involved in the Montrose Model Railroad Club and the Ridgway Railroad Museum. He was an engineer at local TV station KREY TV. Bob’s reminiscences of the early days of MARC can be found by clicking here.

His wife Connie, KØGAS, also a founding member, passed away 29 Mar 2015.

    In a time, long, long ago, I lived in Grand Junction and I flew professionally. I talked to Bob while I worked 2M aeronautical mobile. Bob and Connie both were available for a QSO.
