Club Members Activate Black Canyon NP for NPOTA

Club Treasurer John Renzelman, KBØRUD, provides these photos of the National Parks on the Air (NPOTA) activation on Saturday, 19 Nov 2016, at Black Canyon National Park near Montrose, Colorado.

Club Vice President Dick Schultz (KDØESZ) and club member Rick Purdy (KEØCEW) enjoy a stiff breeze. None of the equipment had overheating problems.

The antenna using snow as the ground plane.

John reports that band conditions were poor. Because of the raw weather, the operation was closed a bit earlier than anticipated. Bravo to all three for putting BCNP on the air!
