MARC Dues: The dues year is the calendar year, January through December. Dues are $20 for a ham, or more than one related ham at the same address. Dues may be brought to a club meeting, or mailed to John Renzelman, KBØRUD, MARC Treasurer, 67194 Omar Court, Montrose, CO 81401, (970) 901-1703. Dues may be pre-paid for more than one year at the current year’s dues rate.

You may contact the treasurer directly by using the form found by clicking on this link.

Membership application: Individuals wishing to join MARC are requested to fill out a membership application, available from the Club Treasurer or as an Adobe Acrobat pdf file Membership application, and submit the application with payment of dues to the Club Treasurer. For newly joining members, dues are prorated as follows: Those joining in January – March, $20; those joining in April – June, $15; those joining in July – September, $10; those joining after September, $5. Licensed amateur radio operators are requested to provide a photo copy of their license with their application. Information requested on the application related to interests and equipment available to the prospective member is optional; it is used to identify members most likely to be interested in and capable of assisting in specific events or emergency response activities.

ARRL membership: As an ARRL affiliated club, a majority of MARC members should also be members of the American Radio Relay League. The American Radio Relay League (ARRL) is the national association for amateur radio, connecting to hams around the U.S. with news, information for individuals and clubs, special operating events, all sorts of continuing education classes and other benefits for its members. Extensive information is available at www.arrl.org. While you can join ARRL directly, the club receives a commission from ARRL for processing new and renewal memberships for ARRL. Renewing members can renew in advance of their membership expiration, so renewing membership in MARC and ARRL at the same time is convenient. Payment (e.g. checks) should be made out to the Montrose Amateur Radio Club.

IRS Status: The Montrose Amateur Radio Club (MARC) is a non-profit organization under Internal Revenue Code Section 501(c)(3). Accordingly, donations to MARC and expenses incurred on behalf of MARC may be tax deductible.

Colorado tax status: As a non-profit organization, MARC has qualified for exemption from Colorado sales tax for items purchased for MARC use. This does not apply to items purchased by MARC for subsequent sale to its members or others. Colorado sales tax exemption only applies when items are paid for by the organization’s check or credit card, and does not apply if purchases are made by a member for subsequent reimbursement.

Club Gear:

  • New members will be provided a club name tag with name and call sign against club logo background.
  • The treasurer also takes orders for hats with club logo and individual’s call signs two or three times a year.
  • As demand justifies, club t-shirts may also be available. The hats and t-shirts are useful in identifying radio operators at events as well as at responses to emergencies.
